'The Shin Bet wants you'
New General Security Service website aims to attract more job candidates; special emphasis placed on high-tech workers
TEL AVIV - The General Security Service is set to launch a new website next week in a bid to attract more candidates to the secret agency, Yedioth Ahronoth reports.
Security officials hope the new site enables them to shorten the process of identifying and enlisting potential employees.
In addition, the site will allow surfers to take a peek at the Shin Bet’s closed world in a bid to make its activities more transparent to the general public.
The website presents the GSS as a challenging place of work. It also emphasizes that the agency is interested in high-tech workers and offers employment in an advanced and vibrant technological environment, in a bid to draw technologically oriented personnel to join the service.
Mossad site launched earlier
The site's launch comes in the framework of the Shin Bet growing emphasis on transparency and openness to the general public, an approach led by current GSS Chief Avi Dichter.
The site follows in the footsteps of the Mossad, which also launched an Internet site recently.
Notably, other intelligence services worldwide such as the CIA and the British MI5 also have their own websites.
