TUL KARM - A 19-year-old Palestinian suspected of planning to carry out a suicide terror attack was apprehended by IDF troops near the West Bank town of Tul Karm Sunday.

The Palestinian youngster, who belongs to the Islamic Jihad cell responsible for the Tel Aviv "Stage" nightclub bombing in February, was detained after filming a video in which he declared he was on his way to carry out a suicide attack.

Security sources said that in 2002, the same youngster sent his sister to carry out a stabbing attack. She arrived at the Taybeh checkpost with the intention of stabbing a soldier. However, once she was identified, IDF troops shot and killed her.

Last week, two Palestinian youngsters aged 16 and 15 carrying 11 pipe bombs and improvised weapons were detained at the Jalameh roadblock north of the West Bank town of Jenin.

Sappers later blew up the explosive devices in a controlled detonation. The youngsters apparently planned to stage an attack at the checkpoint, the IDF said.

The roadblock's commander, who cannot be identified for security reasons, said the boys arrived around 10 a.m. and behaved suspiciously. The bag containing the pipe bombs was discovered after the youngsters' clothes were removed, he said.
