NITZANIM - Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has paid a third visit to Nitzanim to monitor an ambitious housing project underway to receive settlers from Gush Katif.
The Prime Minister routinely tours the area in order to check the progress of construction, and today used the visit to tell Gaza settlers that “they should hurry to claim compensation and select homes, as the project is in an advanced stage.”

In a previous visit to the site in March, Sharon was photographed rebuking Defense Ministry Deputy Director-General Victor Bar-Gil for the slow pace of the work.
But today Sharon told Bar-Gil: “Victor, it seems to me that we stood here not long ago, and I banged on the motor and said: start working. I think you have since then done a great job, it’s simply incredible.”
“Prime Minister, your words have reverberated off every square meter here. They have really speeded up the work,” Bar-Gil said.
Sharon complimented the quality of the cara-villas (mobile homes), designed to temporarily house the residents of Gush Katif until construction of permanent homes is completed.
“These structures are meant for temporary accommodation,” he said. “But these things didn’t exist when I was a kid.”
“We are not underestimating the suffering the suffering felt by those who have left their homes, but we are trying to make their lives as easy as possible,” said Sharon.
