Display of ignorance

British calm in wake of attacks reflects disregard for reality, not strength

The era of restraint in London is over: British security services carried out Friday the first "targeted killing" of a Muslim terrorist on British soil.

Thursday, several potentially lethal terror attacks were foiled (miraculously) in London's public transport system, but the terrorists, who were not scared to be exposed carrying their explosive charges, managed to evade the police.

On Friday, equipped with descriptions and photos, security officers embarked on an operation to locate and eliminate the suspects.

The result: the body of the first assassinated terror suspect sprawled on a subway platform.

The Brits, of course, would not refer to it as "assassination," and certainly not as a "targeted killing." They merely killed a suspect - the man was identified as a member of a terror cell, pursued by police officers, and shot to death at the scene.

Then they confirmed the kill.

It appears British Prime Minister Tony Blair issued an order to uproot Islamic terrorism from his country. This uprooting means a dirty war on Britain's soil, accompanied by violence, killing, assassinations, and terror attacks.

Welcome to the desert of reality.

It was interesting to follow the reaction of British television stations to Thursday's attacks. Again, they found it difficult to use the explicit term "terror attack. Yet again, they presented experts who explained with the utmost seriousness that explosive charges containing nails "are not characteristic" of Islamic terror.

The experts apparently forgot the charges carried by suicide bombers who detonate themselves in Israel.

Meanwhile, newscasters again praised the "return to normalcy" even while the events were still going on, instead of warning that a premature return to routine is foolish and constitutes needless exposure to risks.

Time for new mayor

London and Britain are under a wide-scale, long term Islamic terror offensive. The objective of the masterminds is to triumph over the British government and force it to remove its forces from Iraq – as a first step in Jihad's global victory.

Therefore, I am not impressed by the British calm. I perceive it as repression and disregard for reality.

Not a display of strength, but rather, a display of ignorance.

Only in London can a mayor, Mr. Ken Livingstone, justify Islamic suicide terrorism only several days after the same terrorism murders dozens in his city – and remain at his post as if nothing happened.

In order to beat terrorism, London's day-to-day life must change. The mood must change. Political beliefs must change.

And the mayor, too, must change.

Terrorism in London would be defeated only once public opinion forces Ken Livingstone to go home
