2 teenage girls stabbed outside nightclub
Police conducting manhunt for northern town’s resident and his nephew after they stab girls outside local club for rejecting attempt to ‘pick them up;’ one victim sustains moderate-serious injuries, other girl suffers moderate wounds
KIRYAT SHEMONA - Two 18-year-old girls were injured Friday night when they were allegedly stabbed outside a nightclub in Kiryat Shemona’s industry district.
One of the victims sustained moderate-serious injuries when she was stabbed in her shoulder and stomach with a broken bottle, while the other girl suffered moderate injuries after she too was stabbed in her stomach; the two were evacuated to Ziv Hospital in Safed, where they were operated on during the night.
An investigation launched by the Kiryat Shemona Police Department has revealed that a 42-year-old local tried to ‘pick up’ three teenage girls, all immigrants from former Soviet Union republics, who were attending a party held outside a club in the city’s industry district.
When the girls rejected the man’s advancements, he pursued to summon his nephew, who then stabbed two of the girls.
Police sources said the party was held without a permit, and despite the fact that two security guards were on hand to pat down the guests, the assailant was able to sneak in a knife, probably due to the fact that the area was not fenced in.
The commander of the Kiryat Shemona Police Station, Chief Superintendent Paras Faraj, said both stabbers, who are known to the police, have fled the scene and police forces are searching form them.
Meanwhile, a 19-year-old Haifa resident sustained moderate injuries after he was stabbed in the back during a fight with tenants of a building located on Yad Labanim Street.
The youngster was evacuated to Rambam Hospital for further treatment.
Haifa Police Commander Nir Mariyash said Saturday that a group of youngsters had apparently harassed the tenants via the intercom. A number of tenants then went down to the building’s entrance, a brawl ensued, and one the youngsters was stabbed.
