Pullout objectors protest throughout country

Several dozen pullout objectors attempt to block traffic in central Tel Aviv - stopped by police; 200 youngsters who were evacuated from Neve Dekalim hold rally at the Kastina junction in the south; eight people arrested during protest held at entrance to Jerusalem

Some 1,500 pullout objectors protested Thursday near the entrance to Jerusalem.

 

Occasionally some of them attempted to block traffic but were stopped by police forces; eight people were arrested.

 

About 53 protesters were arrested. 

 

In addition, 20 protesters held an anti-pullout rally at the Bar-Ilan intersection in the capital. They too attempted to block the road but were stopped by police officers who dispersed them.

 

Some 100 people demonstrated against the pullout on the sides of roads in the Shaar Hagai area.

 

Several dozen pullout objectors arrived at the intersection of Namir Road and Einstein Street in Tel Aviv with the intent of blocking traffic in the area. Police forces pushed the demonstrators to the side of the road and arrested two of them.

 

Also on Thursday, dozens of anti-pullout activists held a rally at the Central Raanana intersection. Police forces were dispatched to the scene, and the rally was conducted in an orderly fashion.

 

Some 200 youngsters who were evacuated from the Gush Katif settlement of Neve Dekalim protested at the Kastina junction in the south. Police forces prevented the youngsters from blocking traffic.
