'Time to establish state of Judea'

Far right activists call for 'disengagement' from Israel and establishment of new state; accuse Yesha leaders and rabbis of failing public at crucial time

On the day the evacuation of Jewish settlements in Gaza and Samaria were complete, extreme right activists say they can “now call on the government to expel the Arab enemy without a problem”

“This is a time for soul searching. People who pretended to lead this camp failed, those who adopted approaches sanctifying the state and the IDF had their bubble burst. This could be the time to establish the state of Judea,” said a statement released by far right activists, most of them members of the outlawed Kach group.

The statement was released after the completion of the clearance of Gaza and West Bank settlements.

'Precedent for expelling Arabs'

The activists point a finger of accusation at Yesha leaders and some of the rabbis for the failure in preventing the disengagement from going ahead.

“We are not broken, we’ll continue forward. Our world view is only getting stronger and stronger,” an activist told Ynet. “Take, for example, the issue of expelling Arabs: There is now a precedent for such a move. After they expel Jews from their homes and destroy Jewish homes, we can now call for a disengagement from the Arab enemy and for his expulsion without a problem.”

In the course of the disengagement process, the voice of the far right has barely been heard, as opposed to the period preceding the pullout, when extreme right wingers declared that they would put a stop to the pullout.

After the disengagement became reality, the activists told ynet that it was time to do some self examination. But not just us – also some of those who mislead the public, and we mean some of the rabbis who placed a wedge between the various factions.”

“Some people crowned themselves as leaders of the struggle, but during the critical stage they scored own goals,” said one activist.

Among those in the far right, there is pride that half of the 250 detainees arrested in recent weeks in anti-pullout activity are among their own ranks.

The leaders of the movements are facing administrative detention.

Far right activists also say that one conclusion they have taken away from recent events is the need to “disengage from the system, including the judicial system, the army, and the police."

"Since we can’t influence the system from within, it may well be that we’ll have to break off from it and establish a parallel system, under the banner of a state of Judea.”
