The Gaza based 'al-Quds' radio station, which belongs to the Islamic Jihad terror group, announced that it is stopping its broadcasts Tuesday evening after being told that the IDF was planning to bomb its offices.

Station manager Salah Masri said that the IDF threatened to strike the station after accusing it of being a tool to incite Palestinians to violence.

He said he was worried for the station's workers and its neighbors, and therefore decided to stop broadcasts. Masri added that the station will be back on the air once the situation in Gaza is calm.

Salah said that "Sharon's government is activating terror against the Palestinians," and called on Arab journalists to support their Palestinian counterparts.

Meanwhile, a senior Islamic Jihad figure, Muhammad al-Hindi, said that the group would stop firing Qassams at Israel, but would "reserve its right to avenge Israeli activities."

Two more Qassam rockets fell on southern Israel today, and the IDF responded with artillery fire at the Gaza Strip for the first time.

The first shells were fired to measure distance, and these were followed by four artillery shells fired on target. Earlier, the Air Force struck a number of targets in Gaza used to launch Qassams.
