Cat's head placed in MK's office

The decapitated head of a cat was placed at the entrance to Knesset member Talab el-Sana's office, believed to be threat on MK's life by political rivals

The decapitated, blood-covered head of a cat, and one of the animal's legs were placed on the doorstep of Knesset Member Talab el-Sana's office in the southern town of Beer Sheva.

The MK discovered the horrifying sight Thursday, upon arriving at his workplace.

The dreadful display was apparently placed in response to el-Sana's speech at the Knesset Wednesday, in which the he claimed that a national state plan works to establish Jewish settlements in the southern Negev region, while disregarding the Bedouin population.

"It's like being in a horror movie," el-Sana told Ynet.

"Only sub-human, primitive people can reach such levels of cruelty. This is a very serious act. Whenever there is a conflict in Beer Sheva over demonstrations against issues like demolishing houses or the existence of a mosque, right-wing elements express their protest in some way or another," he said.

Immediately after el-Sana reported the incident, police contacted the Knesset's chief security officer and the head of the department for the protection of senior officials, to inform them that the MK should receive tighter security.

Notably, a cat's decapitated head covered in blood symbolizes a threat on a person's life in the Bedouin community.

El-Sana has already encountered threats and vandalism several times in the past, as a result of public political disputes. About three months ago, his office was set on fire twice, and in a separate incident the office's door was painted in red, as a symbol for blood.
