United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan condemned comments by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad that Israel should be moved to Germany and Austria.
A statement issues by Annan’s office read: “The United Nations Secretary General is amazed to hear the comments attributed to Iranian President Mohmoud Ahmadinejad. He wishes to remind that Israel is an old member of the United Nations, and according to the U.N. charter member state are obliged not to use threats or violence against another sovereign country.” (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
