Meretz MK Yossi Sarid called on Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to quit politics and save the public “a troublesome and corrupt presence.”
Referring to reports that police possess evidence pointing to USD 3 million received by Sharon from two Austrian financers to fund his race in the Likud 1999 primaries, Sarid said corruption at home is more dangerous to Israel than external threats. (Roee Nahmias)
