Palestinian killed in clashes with PA police
1 man killed, 5 injured in clashes between PA policemen and Khan Yunis family whose members forcibly entered hothouses area in former settlement of Morag
A Palestinian man was killed and five were injured on Friday in clashes between Palestinian policemen and a Khan Yunis family, whose members occupied greenhouses in the former settlement of Morag in the Gaza Strip.
Three of the injured were Palestinian Authority security officers who were ordered to regain control of the hothouses. Settlements and land evacuated by Israeli during the 2005 disengagement were declared state property by the Palestinian Authority.
Balaclava-clad gunmen set ablaze two PA police stations in Khan Yunis to avenge the man's death.
Dozens of Palestinians took to the streets of Khan Yunis calling for more retaliatory attacks against PA police.
Palestinian Interior Minister Saed Sayyam said police forces will launch a wide scale operation to evict squatters from state land.
