Jenin: IDF kills al-Aqsa Brigades terrorist

Member of Fatah’s armed wing killed in exchanges of fire with soldiers attempting to apprehend him

IDF forces operating in Jenin killed early Wednesday a member of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, Fatah’s armed wing.

Military sources said soldiers spotted an armed Palestinian and proceeded to open fire at him.

According to Palestinian medical and security sources, the man was identified as Mahmoud el-Wash, 26.

The soldiers attempted to detain the al-Aqsa member near a Jenin medical center, but he was killed in exchanges of fire that erupted at the scene.

On Tuesday an Israeli citizen was lightly to moderately injured Tuesday after Palestinian terrorists opened fire at security guards working on the separation fence at Bir Naballah.

Police said that two security guards drove into the village due to an unknown reason, where they were shot at. They managed to rescue themselves and reach the parking lot of the construction fence on the security fence in Atarot, north of Jerusalem.

The IDF believes that the shots were fired from a moving vehicle. The injured man was fully conscience, and paramedics and police were rushed to the scene.

About two weeks ago IDF forces shot dead an Islamic Jihad member in Qabatiyeh, near Jenin. Army sources said soldiers identified an armed Palestinian and opened fire at him. Palestinians later identified him as senior Islamic Jihad member Tarek Shami; two other senior Jihad terrorists were injured in the incident.

According to security establishment officials, the three were planning a terror attack against Israel.
