Neve Tzedek renovation

In honor of Tel Aviv centennial, Neve Tzedek neighborhood is about to undergo major renovations, at a cost ten million NIS

According to "Yediot Aharonot" Newspaper, the Neve Tzedek neighborhood in Tel Aviv is about to undergo major renovations, at a cost ten million NIS, in anticipation of Tel Aviv's imminent centennial celebration in 2009.

The first stage of renovations in Neve Tsedek – which was founded in 1887, 22 years prior to the formal creation of Tel Aviv – are anticipated to be completed by 2007.

This stage of the renovations, to be undertaken by the Halamish company, will focus on the upgrade of the neighborhood's main road, Pines St: the sewage and water infrastructures will be replaced, new phone lines will be erected, and an electrical system will be built underneath the road.

Additionally, the lighting along the road will be replaced and the surrounding infrastructure will also be improved, including a widening of sidewalks.

Later on, other roads in the neighborhood will also be renovated.
