State: Situation in north not war

The State responded to a peition filed by Knesset Member Yossi Beilin (Meretz) and northern workers organizations to the High Court of Justice requesting a declaration of a state of war in the region, announcing that "it is not a war, but fighting operations."

"A Declaration of a state of war would not affect compensation to the residents, but would only affect future agreements expected to be signed between the State and the Histadrut (labor federation)," the State responded. (Aviram Zino)
