France and the United States, backed by other key UN Security Council members, reached agreement on Friday on a draft resolution aimed at halting the bloodshed in Lebanon and Israel, British Foreign
Minister Margaret Beckett said.
"We have an agreed text," Beckett told a small group of reporters. She said the full council would receive the draft later in hopes of a possible vote on Friday. Beckett also hoped Israel and Lebanon would abide by it. (Reuters)
