French foreign minister to arrive in Beirut for meeting with Siniora

French Foreign Minister Philippe Doust-Blazy is expected to arrive in Beirut Wednesday for a meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora. The French Foreign Ministry reported taht the goal of his trip is the ensure the application of the ceasefire agreement, mainly the part calling for the disarming of Hizbullah.

France announced that it will send French soldiers to lead the multinational force to be deployed in southern Lebanon alongside the Lebanese army following the withdrawal of the IDF. France is asking to make sure that Hizbullah be disarmed before the multinational force is sent to the area. (AFP)
