Who sends derisive letters to family of fallen soldier?

Muskal family, whose son Rafanel Muskal was killed in Lebanon war, receives two derisive letters in past two weeks. Police estimate letters sent on background of family's struggle against government

Rehovot police opened an investigation into who sent derisive letters to the family of fallen soldier Rafanel Muskal from Mazkeret Batya, who was killed in Lebanon. The police report that the letters were sent to the Muskal family on the background of their struggle against the Israeli government.

In the last two weeks, the family claims it received newspaper clippings in which pictures of the family were circled. Threatening words were written over the face of their son. Moshe Muskal, the soldier's father, told Ynet Monday that the first letter arrived at their house two weeks ago. "Defamatory statements were written in the letter. My wife and I looked at the letter and afterward decided to throw it away and to forget about it," he said.

However, last weekend, Moshe said, another letter arrived at their family home, in which statements praising Nasrallah were written. "A swastika was drawn on the letter. The letter itself was supposedly signed by Ahmad Tibi. We are positive of course that MK Tibi is not behind this," he explained.

According to him, both letters were written by the same person. After they received the second letter, the family members turned to the police, who suggested they file a report.

According to Moshe Muskal, the event won't affect the continuation of the family's struggle with the government. "Until now we have seen one side of Israel. People have encouraged us and continue to encourage us. All of a sudden you see before you the ugly side of Israeli society. I hope that this is just a mental case and nothing more. It doesn't scare me, but makes me nauseous. I don't even know what to think. We are continued as usual with our struggle. The government will fall in the end – if not today, if not in another week, then another month. Then we will see where we go from there."
