Israel rejects report that it agreed Annan mediate talks for hostage release
Diplomatic officials in Jerusalem denied reports that Israel agreed to have UN Secretary General Kofi Annan mediate negotiations for the release of two soldiers kidnapped by Hizbullah.
“We did not agree that the UN and Kofi Annan would be the mediators,” sources said. (Attila Somfalvi)
