Magal Security Systems announced Monday it has received an order of about USD 5.5 million from the Israeli Defense Ministry for installation of a perimeter intrusion detection system along the northern border of Israel.
Most of the work will be executed before the end of 2006, with the balance to be completed by the end of the first quarter of 2007.
Izhar Dekel, CEO of Magal, said: "This order is part of the reconstruction work that has begun along the northern border of Israel. Securing the northern Israeli border has recently become one of the Israeli Government's most important mandates."
"Magal, whose systems are currently protecting the majority of Israel's borders, is pleased to be a part of this important mission of protecting the citizens of northern Israel," he stated.
