Italian police said they had begun negotiations with two Turkish citizens who hijacked a Turkish Airlines flight on Tuesday which was forced to land in Brindisi, southern Italy.
"We're starting negotiations," said the head of Brinidisi aviation police, adding that the airliner was on the airport tarmac surrounded by police, military and fire brigade vehicles. The head of Italian civil aviation authority told SKY TG24 news that it appeared that the hijackers were not armed. (Reuters)
