UN Security Council declares candidate for next secretary general

The UN Security Council declared South Korean Foreign Minister Ban Ki-Moon as its official candidate to be the next UN secretary general.
Current UN secretary general Kofi Annan will finish his post at the end of 2006 at the end of a ten year term. (News Agencies)
