Labor sources: Peres may vie for Presidency
Senior officials in the Labor party associated with Defense Minister Amir Peretz told Ynet Monday evening that the possibility of Vice Prime Minister Shimon Peres contending for the Presidency should not be ruled out, this despite previous statements by Peres that he would not put himself forward.
According to the sources, talks have been underway within the political system for the past few weeks to examine the possibility of such a move. (Attila Somfalvi)
