The 34-year-old woman and a 14-year-old boy who were injured Wednesday by IDF fire in Gaza have died of their wounds at a local hospital, thus increasing the day’s death toll in the Strip to four.

The woman and boy were injured when IDF forces fired shells and machine guns in Beit Lahiya.

During the morning hours a Hamas activist was killed from an IDF shell fired in his direction; another activist sustained serious injuries in the incident.

In addition, Palestinian sources in Gaza reported that Semi Zibara, a Hamas operative, was killed Wednesday afternoon from an unexplained explosion.

According to the report, Zibara was brought to the hospital in critical conditions and later died of his wounds. It is posited that the explosion occurred as he was preparing an explosive or Qassam rocket.

In the evening a member of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, Fatah’s armed wing, was killed by IDF forces operating in Jenin.

Palestinian sources said the activist, Shadi el-Amor, was shot dead during a gun battle between members of various Palestinian groups and IDF troops who arrived to detain Ashraf al-Saadi, commander of Islamic Jihad’s armed wing in Jenin.

During the attempted arrest Saadi sustained moderate to serious injuries.
