International celebrities embrace! Singer Enrique Iglesias and his wife Anna Kornikova, until recently, a world leading tennis player, are set to arrive in Israel to take part in billionaire Arcadi Gaydamak's Hanukkah party.

Last year Gaydamak held a spectacular ball in which he invested USD 400,000, however the event was not much of a success: Many politicians and businessmen who had been invited to the ball didn't turn up lest they be identified with the dubious oligarch wanted by French authorities.

However, it appears that this year, after contributing significantly to the residents of the north during the war in Lebanon and to the residents of Sderot during the Qassam barrages on the city, many more guest are expected to turn up for the event.

This time Gaydamak is planning an even more spectacular party. The cost of bringing Iglesias, his band and wife to Israel alone is expected to total some USD one million, which also includes the cost for 30 luxury suites.

According to Gaydamak, there are two reasons for throwing the party: To celebrate and to thank all those who supported him throughout the year in which he entered public awareness. It should be noted that all the income from the event will be donated to the Variety Children's Charity.

Ehud Olmert or Amir Peretz will not be invited to Gaydamak's party this time around, however many other politicians, dignitaries or just celebrities will be there. If you are a celebrity take note: December 21st, on the eve of the lighting of the seventh Hanukkah candle at the Hilton Hotel in Tel Aviv.

Some 1,000 are expected to attend the ball, all hot names in the gossip columns.

From Netanyahu to Iglesias

Among the politicians invited to the event are Benjamin Netanyahu, Avigdor Leiberman, Danny Yatom and Rabbi Meir Porush. Top league business persons have also been invited including Nochi Dankner, Sherry Arison and Yitzhak Tshuva among others. They will be surrounded by a host of top models, soccer players and TV stars.

However, singer Enrique Iglesias, will no doubt be the highlight of the event. Iglesias, the son, is one of the most sought out artists in the world and he is constantly hounded by photographers.

In order to bring the two mega celebrities to Israel, a special contract was signed by Gaydamak stipulating that he would fulfill all their bizarre demands. The couple has already requested that mineral water and freshly squeezed orange juice be placed in their room at 7am.

Gaydamak promised that he would show the couple around Jerusalem, and he is planning the most authentic experience ever: He is planning to take Iglesias and his wife to watch his soccer team at play.

David Nitzani will produce the event and Gaydamak hopes to unite singers Ninet Tayeb, Shiri Maimon and Maya Bouskila to appear as the warm up to the grand performance.
