The United States is deploying a squadron of stealth fighters to South Korea, a US military spokesman said on Wednesday, amid speculation that North Korea may be ready to test a second nuclear device.
The US is sending about 15 to 20 of its F-117A Nighthawk fighters to South Korea, as part of a "routine deployment," he said.
The US has sent the radar-evading fighters regularly to South Korea for stays of a few months over the past few years. North Korea has criticised previous deployments as preparations for invasion and nuclear war. (Reuters)
