Abbas completes reform in PA security forces
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas completed the reform within the senior leadership of the Palestinian security forces and sent 158 senior officers to early retirement.
This decision was made within the framework of Abbas' campaign to fight corruption within the security forces and their lack of capability to push back anarchy within the Palestinian Authority. Estimates are that Abbas is training the forces in preparation for a confrontation with Hamas. (Ali Waked)
