New: Gov't SMS service
Government website offers new free service, notification of due payments now available via email and SMS
The Israeli government internet portal has launched a new service making life easier for anyone who has 'business' with the government offices.
Citizens will now be able to register to a service through the website sending reminders by email or SMS notifying them of payments due.
The portal gives the option of opening a personal "mini site" where one can receive notifications via email or text message to their mobile phone.
The Service is offered free of charge; whoever is interested in signing up can enter the site and arrange the delivery of notifications in advance.
In 2006, 5 million surfers entered the government portal carrying out various transactions including online payments, receiving information and downloading official forms.
