Olmert on holiday

Prime minister takes wife, close friends to north for Passover vacation

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is expected to take a four-day holiday with his wife Aliza in the north starting Wednesday.

The couple will stay at a guest house in the heart of the Galillee, and will be joined by several of their closest friends: Former Justice Minister Yosef Lapid and his wife Shulamit, former Knesset Member Eti Livni and her husband Yitzhak, and MK Shlomo Breznitz and his wife Tzvia.

The four couples will be staying at a guesthouse situated 900 meters above sea level, overlooking a lush, green grove reservation.

The guesthouse includes luxuriously furnished bedrooms, a Jacuzzi overlooking the view, a fully equipped kitchenette, a cozy dining area, satellite TV, and a sophisticated sound system.

Awaiting Olmert and his friends will be a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon, scented candles, and lace sheets.

The guesthouse costs up to NIS 900 ($216) per night during holidays, breakfast included.

Olmert booked the guesthouse two months in advance in order to allow security forces time to prepare for his visit. Eight additional guesthouses, close to Olmert’s, were booked for the prime minister’s security personnel.
