Pentagon confirms 13,000 National Guard soldiers ready for Iraq deployment
The US Department of Defense has ordered 13,000 National Guard soldiers to prepare for possible deployment to Iraq as early as late 2007.
In a formal announcement issued by the Pentagon officials said that the troops, from four different brigades, are set to replace forces currently serving in Iraq. (AFP)
