Israeli troops shot and killed a Palestinian terror suspect Tuesday near the West Bank town of Jenin, the
army and Palestinian security said.
Ahmed Hanaishe, a member of the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade, was traveling between Jenin and the town of
Qabatiya when his car was blocked by another vehicle and undercover troops inside shot at him, Palestinian security and witnesses said.
One other occupant of Hanaishe's car was injured and he was arrested by the force, along with another passenger, the security official said.
The Israeli army said that troops operating in the area saw a Palestinian gunman and shot at him, killing him. The army spokesman did not immediately say what the troops were doing in the area.
Israeli troops carry out almost daily raids in the West Bank to arrest militants suspected of anti-Israeli
activity.
The Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigade is affiliated with the Fatah Party of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
