Italian PM: Israel must make sacrifices for peace

Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi said that Israel must be willing to make sacrifices to obtain peace including a Palestinian state, according to Italian news agency Ansa.
"Israel will have to make sacrifices, as will the Arab countries, to guarantee the Palestinians an independent, sovereign state, with territorial continuity, that will exist alongside Israel, a country recognized by its neighbors," said Prodi. (AFP)
