Teapacks versus the world
Israeli band will compete against 27 countries for a spot at the Eurovision final
Gambling sites show the odds are against them, Israelis didn't want them as their representatives, and rehearsals were problematic, but Teapacks members are optimistic.
Kobi Oz and the guys believe they have a good shot at making it into the top 10 and moving forward to the Eurovision's finals on Saturday. Yet, there are 27 other bands that want the exact same thing.
At Wednesday night's rehearsal in front of an audience of several thousands, "Push the Button" received a warm welcome compared to the other songs.
"We feel good," Oz said, "but I don't know how it will translate into votes. I understand each person can send up to 20 SMS messages for each song. If all Israelis ask their relatives in Europe to vote for us – it should be enough."
The Israeli delegation will perform second, following Bulgaria. In long competitions such as tonight's semi-finals, a spot at the beginning is considered a disadvantage as the viewers tend to forget the first songs by the time they get ready to vote.
Either way, set your clocks: 10 p.m. tonight, Channel 1 – "Push the Button."
