An exhibit of the artist's paintings called "Toys collection" is now available on the internet
Yosl Bergner, an Israel Prize laureate, is considered one of the pillars of Israeli and international Jewish art. This week, an interactive exhibition of the artist's works was launched on the internet. The site features Bergner's paintings and allows those who wish to purchase them to do so.
The exhibit, titled "Toys collection," features Bergner's contemporary work. "Yosl Bergner is known for his fondness of toys and inanimate objects; he sees in them an entire universe of content, humaneness and personality and it is evident in his work," say the organizers.
"This exhibit is very important to Bergner," they add, "since it is based on his most important source of inspiration – his toys and objects collection that are stored in the closet of his Tel Aviv apartment – on Bilu Street, where he works. Each of the objects has a story and life of its own."
