Eyal Ofer joins project to develop Marriot Nickelodeon family resorts
Businessman Eyal Ofer has partnered in a new tourism project, a chain of Nickelodeon Marriot Resorts, with billions of dollars invested.
This project is a joint undertaking of the Marriot hotel chain and Nickelodeon, the children's network. The hotels will be family oriented and will include children attractions, game rooms and entertainment using Nickelodeon characters such as Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob.
According to the blue print, 20 hotels will be built according to the concept until 2020. The first 5 hotels will be built with an investment of $800 million.
Eyal Ofer joined the project together with Micky Miller, his co-chairman at Miller Global Properties LLC.
The resorts will be owned and developed by Miller Global Properties, while the Marriot chain will manage them.
The first venue is planned to be opened in 2010. It is a 650-room resort at Liberty Station, San Diego, with a water park and several swimming pools.
