Italy's foreign minister said Monday his country hopes to strengthen cooperation with Syria to achieve peace in the Middle East.
During his two-day visit to Damascus, Massimo D'Alema will discuss the recent UN Security Council resolution to establish an international tribunal to prosecute suspects in the 2005 assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri. (AP)
