Germany to unveil plans for new EU treaty

European Union president Germany will unveil on Tuesday its draft mandate to negotiate a new treaty reforming EU institutions, two days before the start of a crucial summit.

German officials will present the 11-page document to the personal representatives of the 27 EU leaders at a meeting in Brussels aiming for a detailed, precise roadmap for a new treaty to replace the defunct EU constitution. (Reuters)
