More expensive to fly
El Al raises prices, blames increase in fuel costs
Starting July 2, El Al raises prices by $10 for short flights and by $20 for long ones
If you are planning to fly El Al in the near future – buy your tickets now. El Al announced today that because of record prices of petrol of about $70 per barrel, ticket prices will go up from July 2.
The increase will be $10 per ticket to destinations in Europe, while prices of tickets to North America, South Africa and the Far East will be raised by $20 per ticket.
An El Al spokesperson said that the increase was postponed until July 2 in order to allow passengers to purchase cheaper tickets.
Rami Levi, VP of sales at El Al, said that "the increase in petrol prices forced us to adjust our prices as most airlines have already done, by raising prices."
