120 young Jewish innovators from 23 countries will gather in Jerusalem this week for the first summit conference of its type

Dozens of young Jewish innovators are gathering this week for a summit meeting, the first of its kind. "The ROI Global Summit for Young Jewish Innovators" will take place on July 2–5 in Jerusalem. ROI is a partnership between The Center for Leadership Initiatives (CLI), which is founded by philanthropist Mrs. Lynn Schusterman; and Taglit-birthright Israel.

 

Hundreds of Jewish innovators from all over the world, including Israel, competed for the right to participate in the summit and following an intensive screening process, 120 of the most successful were chosen. The selection committee described them as "excellent innovators who have succeeded in implementing projects on local and global levels."

 

Among the conference participants are Jeremy Kossen, 32, from California, the founder and president of the Online Video Sharing Internet Community, JewTube, and the well known Jewish Hip-Hop Artist,

Y-Love , originally Yitz (Yitzhak) Jordan, 29, from Brooklyn, who is considered a pioneer of Jewish Hip-Hop.

 

Mrs. Lynn Schusterman, who initiated the summit, said that "the aim of the summit is to promote innovation in the global Jewish community, while developing the participants' managerial and innovation skills. Our assumption is that the participants' exposure to each other will foster contacts and promote extraordinary networks of collaboration. Our goal is to support these young leaders as individuals and as a global community."

 

The participants, who come from 23 countries including Australia, Belgium, Brazil, El Salvador, France, Germany, India, Israel, Mexico, Poland, Russia, South Africa, Turkey, Ukraine, the United States, and Venezuela will be divided into five tracks: Service – Tikkun Olam (repairing the world), Environmental Activism, Content delivery, Programs for Youth , and Israel Advocacy. The participants will receive training from top lecturers and experts in each field, with the goal of developing their abilities and providing them with advanced managerial tools to continue their work.
