Some 15,000 Israelis gathered in Rabin Square in Tel Aviv Saturday night in order to take part in the world-wide, 24-hour Live Earth concert, intended to raise public awareness of global warming and other ecological disasters.
The Israeli artists taking part in the event were Korin Alal, Mosh Ben-Ari, Efrat Gosh, and the bands Teapacks, and Shotei Hanevuah.

"The role of music here is to send a message," Korin Alal told Ynet. "It sends a message to the world. It gets on stage and the world comes to listen. It's an opportunity for people here to understand a deeper issue."
