Assad: Israel must officially announce desire for peace
Syrian President Bashar Assad reiterated Syria’s desire for renewed negotiations with Israel Tuesday afternoon.
Assad revealed that a new country was working to bring Israel and Syria together for talks. “The Israeli prime minister said he wants peace and that is good, but it is not enough. We are waiting for conditions to reach a point where Syrian officials will visit the country, not in order to meet Israeli officials, but to discuss the process with that country,” he said.
