Blair makes maiden Mideast tour for Quartet

Tony Blair on Monday kicks off his maiden voyage to the Middle East as special envoy for the peace Quartet amid a flurry of diplomatic activity aimed at reviving the moribund peace process.

Blair was expected in Jordan mid-morning at the start of a three-day visit that will also take him to Israel and the West Bank. His mandate is limited to seeking to improve the lot of the Palestinian people. (AFP)
