Bulgaria could write off Libya's foreign debt

Bulgaria may write off Libyia's foreign debt to the country as part of humanitarian aid measures, the Bulgarian prime minister said Wednesday.

Canceling the $54 million in debt should not be seen as payback for Tripoli's release Wednesday of five Bulgarian nurses and a Palestinian doctor on Wednesday, Prime Minister Sergei Stanishev said. (AP)
