Celebrating in Jerusalem
In honor of 40th anniversary of capital's unification, various cultural institutions offer unique experiences, free of charge
This week, Jerusalem hosts a cultural happening including guided tours of the capital, free admission to museums, folklore events, and a variety of attractions for children free-of-charge. The happening will take place Tuesday through Thursday (August 7-9) and is expected to attract tens of thousands of visitors.
The happening is a joint project of Jerusalem's Municipality and the Jewish Agency in honor of the 40th anniversary of the city reunification.
During the three-day celebration, street performances, puppet shows, Jewish folk music and workshops for children will be available on Ben Yehuda Street and Hillel Street. Admission to tourist attractions - including the Science Museum, the City of David, the Biblical Zoo, and Israel's Museum - will be free of charge.
