First Lady Laura Bush to visit Middle East in October
US First Lady Laura Bush will visit the Middle East in the month of October as part of an effort to improve the image of the United States in the region, said a White House spokeswoman.
The announcement regarding the planned trip indicated that the First Lady plans to lobby for American diplomatic initiatives to meet with regional leaders and to lobby for increased cooperation in the struggle against breast cancer during her time in the region. (AFP)
