Egypt's armed forces on Sunday ended large scale military maneuvers that lasted for five days in the Sinai Peninsula, the semiofficial Middle East News Agency reported.
The maneuvers by Egypt's 2nd Army and other units included an exercise to cross the Suez Canal, MENA said. It said the ''Ramadan 10 Maneuvers'' included an exercise to repel an offensive by an airborne enemy. Warplanes, helicopters and artillery supported armored units took part in the maneuvers, MENA said, along with special forces and paratroopers. The exercises were held on the 44th anniversary of the 1973 Yom Kippur War. (AP)
