Livni urges Egypt to fight smuggling of arms, cash into Gaza
Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni convened Tuesday with her Egyptian counterpart Ahmed Aboul Gheit at the UN building in New York. Livni stressed to Aboul Gheit the need for cooperation that would help promote the moderate leadership in the Palestinian Authority.
Livni called on the Egyptians to fight the smuggling of arms and cash into the Gaza Strip, saying this was an essential step in bolstering the West Bank. (Yitzhak Benhorin, New York)
