Russian president arrives in Portugal

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in Portugal for a summit with leaders of the European Union, will face a long-standing series of disagreements that have stood in the way of a strategic partnership agreement with the 27-nation bloc.

Arriving in Lisbon Thursday on the eve of the potentially contentious summit, he will meet with leaders of Portugal, which holds the rotating EU presidency. (AP)
