Housing and Construction Minister Ze'ev Boim met Friday with land developers in southern Israel and revealed he plans to push for the free distribution of la residential land in the Gaza vicinity communities.
Boim announced he will be bringing before the Israel Land Authority's next meeting, which is scheduled for December 31st, a proposal to market free residential land in each of the 50 communities located within a 5-mile radius of the Israeli side of the Green Line.
The list he intends to submit to the Land Authority's approval will include – besides all Gaza vicinity communities – the city of Sderot.
Boim further said he intended to push for increased government housing aid for the area's residents. The housing aid program previously available in the area was annulled three years ago.
