High Court cancels injunction against Greek Orthodox patriarch

The High Court on Sunday canceled an injunction it had issued last week preventing the Ministry of Interior from recognizing Archbishop Theopilus III as the Greek Orthodox Patriarch in place of his predecessor, Irineos I.

Irineos had petitioned the court to revoke his dismissal because he claimed it was not made under the Church's law, but rather under Greek law, rendering it invalid. (Neta Sela)
